My Children, ESCAPE from Babylon! #4 [Rome/America? Part 2]

Picture1As we begin the final two postings of the series, “My Children, ESCAPE from Babylon”, it is important to restate the foundational biblical framework, that has guided this study.

Let us hold that Babylon in the book of Revelation, is in reference to a prophetic type of spiritual system of government and false religion, opposed to God’s rule. That type was first encountered in Genesis 11, at the tower of Babel. They were led by Nimrod, who is a spiritual type of Antichrist. Their governance was a self determining, one world government and religion opposed to God’s rule over them.

After Babel, it would take several years for Babylon to rise again, through the ascendancy of the Babylonian Empire, with Nebuchadnezzar as the leader. In this incarnation, under another Nebuchadnezzar (type of Antichrist), Babylon destroyed Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple. Babylon was THE undisputed  world power, not only subduing most of the known world, but holding the Jews captive for 69 years.

Around the first incarnation of Jesus Christ, Rome was manifesting the spiritual type of Babylon, in its world conquest. It’s civil government was mixed with its religion, which allowed for and incorporated the worship of  its own pantheon of gods, as well as those gods of the lands they subjugated. had the Lord Jesus been set to return around the year 100 ad, Rome would have been Babylon.

It is for this reason, that those who have looked for Christ’s return have sought and often found manifestations of Babylon in the nations of the world, which have risen to prominence. It is not difficult to see aspects of Babylon as the rise of Ottoman Empire, Great Britain, and Nazi Germany.

Although we discussed the influence of the Roman Catholic Church and its blasphemous mix of Babylonian pagan ritual with Christianity (last post), I must admit that the RCC is not end times Babylon on its own accord, although they are most likely a large part of that last one world religion.

In the United States, we have the fullness of the Babylonian system: a civil government and a civil religion which allows for the worship of any god, under the auspices of one dominant civil God. The question is what God is being referred to?

Many of our wonderful Christian brethren will declare “America was founded as a Christian nation”. Although I appreciate the zeal expressed in that statement, it is simply not true. Let’s consider some historical and civic facts.

Many point to the declaration of one John Winthrop, who served as Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony for many of its first 20 years, as proof of a Christian founding. In a lay sermon around 1630, Winthrop defined the endeavor of the puritans in the Massachusetts Bay Colony, as building the “city set on a hill” (a reference to Matthew 5:13-16). Many point to this as proof that the United States was founded to be a Christian nation.

In the first place, the puritans were subjects of the British crown, and were not seeking independence, as a separate nation. Secondly, Winthrop’s “city set on a hill” comment, was pertaining to the work of the puritans in the Massachusetts Bay area. Thirdly, Christ’s words concerning His church as “a City set on a hill which cannot be hidden” is a direct reference to His Church, a kingdom not of this world (Matthew 5:13-16).

If Winthrop had meant they would set up a Christian nation, which he did not, he would have been guilty of horrific scripture twisting. Therefore the founding of the United States, popularly said to have religious freedom for Christians as chief cornerstone, is at best a gross overstatement; at worst a purposeful neglect of historical fact, from those who are supposed to be purveyors of truth.

Let us remember, it was not the pilgrims that founded the United States. By the early 1700’s the pilgrim influence had waned, and a potentially booming trade economy, not religion, was driving culture.

The population of the colonies was filling with many different types of people from England. Some wanted a fresh start, some to make a buck, some wanted to avoid the church of England for Christian and non Christian reasons (such as the Masons).

Religion was not the driving force of the majority of those who were in the colonies, although they were not opposed to the idea. For a more important and settled date, concerning the founding and what the United states would actually become, we must turn to New York City, before it was called New York City; and 20 years prior to John Winthrop.

In 1609, while trying to discover the North West Passage, Henry Hudson actually discovered the southern tip of Manhattan. The day of the discovery was September 11th, 1609. That is correct, 392 years before the attack on the United States, at the heart of its economic and governmental power, Henry Hudson discovered and walked on the area of the attacks.

Interestingly, Hudson did not plant a church, recite a scripture or seek to plant a flag of any nation, but he did plant a flag of commerce, which would eerily become the character of the city of New York and the nation it belongs to. The first structure built by Hudson on the spot of the future twin towers was a… TRADING CENTER!

Many American Christians conveniently forget that the first U.S capitol was New York City. So the first place that would project U.S. dominance in economic and military power was discovered on September 11, 1609. The first attack on September 11, 2001 was at the very spot discovered 392 years prior: two towers that represented American dominance and pride.

How does this relate to the United States manifesting the characteristics of Babylon? Where today, even amidst a nation’s decline, is the governmental (the United Nations) and economic nerve center of all nations ? The United States in New York City. Even amidst decades of decline, in favor among nations, can anyone deny that as America goes so goes the world, economically, governmentally and culturally. Can anyone deny the influence exerted over nations?

I encourage you to read Revelation 18 in one sitting and prayerfully consider, how well America, with New York City as a type of its economic, cultural, governmental and military dominance, fits the written word of God concerning Babylon. Yet there is also a chilling portion of scripture in Revelation 17 to consider, when looking at the Whore of Babylon, the Mother of Harlots.

Revelation 17:15-18 (NKJV) Then he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.”

What nation, at this time, can be seen as “a great harlot who sits on waters”, which represents peoples, nations and tongues, but America. Consider the motto of the Statue of Liberty, which is a statue of Isis (the Queen of Heaven); designed by a master mason…

“Bring your poor tired huddled masses to me

Although travel in these last days has made immigration to many nations possible, where in the world, is there a nation that is populated, literally by peoples, nations and tongues, but the united States.

The majority population of most nations is homogenized, not the United States. What was the first sight most immigrants immigrants saw coming to America during the immigration boom? A statue of Isis, a representation of the “Queen of Heaven“, yes the “Mother of Harlots“, as they arrived in New York City. When they arrive, they are not mandated to learn the language of the land, or assimilate into its culture, because a culture of pluralism, ethnically and religiously.

Just so I am not accused of skipping over vast amounts of history, let’s look at how the founding fathers guaranteed a religiously plural society. Yes, religious freedom was important, but not for the reason we Christians want to ascribe.

The war for independence was not fought for religious freedom, but because of “No taxation without representation”. The colonies led by Benjamin Franklin (who had a seat representing the colonies in British parliament but no vote), were opposed to the idea of exorbitant taxes on tea and alcohol. They were specifically upset about paying taxes with no vote in parliament.

When politics did not work, rebellion ensued. Though war for Independence was not fought for religious freedom, religious speech was used, in a manner of manipulation, along side incendiary patriotic rhetoric, to sway the people.

By the time the constitution was ratified (12 years after gaining independence)  and more importantly the Bill of Rights, we see the desire for personal liberty as its highest priority. First among them, the right of personal choice in religion; ANY religion.

The first amendment to the constitution was not written to guarantee Christianity be the dominate faith of the land, or even moralistic Christian principals. Remember their were Anglicans, Lutherans, Presbyterians, some Quakers, a couple of Roman Catholics, many deists, and Unitarians and yes many influential free masons among them.

The first amendment was written to make sure that any religious expression be protected, even that of the free masons, who were often ridiculed and hunted by the Church of England and Roman Catholic Church in other European nations. The first amendment guarantees a society where satanists have the same right as Christians to be religious. For this reason the founders opened Pandora’s box, where religion is concerned.

Historically, for the very influential of Masonic belief, that box is what they may have wanted. But more on that in the next blog.

The point is, the United States has all the components of Babylon’s system of religion. Through America’s religious plurality and its effect on the Christian’s faith, was to water down the faith once delivered to the saints. Hence, America became the leading producer of  the “falling away” from the faith (apostate religion), in the world over the last 120 years.

Consider the false and cult faith of Jehovah’s Witness and Mormonism; both American born, both abominable to the Lord and influencing millions world over. Consider higher criticism of the word of God, which began in eastern Europe, but blossomed in America.  Higher criticism is extracting moralistic principals from the bible, but denying its supernatural origin and content.

This heresy corrupted mainline Protestantism with doctrine which denying the deity of Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and resurrection.  The higher criticism error has little by little deactivated, practical Spirit-filled faith throguh out evangelical Christianity as well. This too has been exported from America and is apostasy.

And what of the prosperity gospel, which is not only confined to more materialism and money, but the false teaching that Christians ought not suffer and will be raptured before we suffer an persecution or tribulation: both ideas contrary to biblical truth (Philippians 1:29: II Timothy 3:12).

The U.S. is the chief exporter of apostate Christianity around the world. Apostasy has flourished because the church has given into justifying little compromises and a wrong assumption about the founding of America. It is time to recover the faith once delivered to the saints, because like it or not we will find that every nation, whether end-times Babylon or not, will turn on the saints, in fulfillment of Jesus words in Matthew 24:9-14.

Next time we will dive further into the manifestation of Babylon in dealing with America’s relationship to Israel, America’s prideful response to 9/11 rather an appropriate repentance, and finally an even deeper dive into the Masonic overtones to America’s founding and symbolism.
