In the video below a grieving 11 year old boy, asks pope Francis where his dead father is. The boys father was an atheist. Begin watching at the 2:13 mark.
Without discernment, one may find inspiration or comfort in the words of pope Francis, the head of the Roman Catholic Church. To any follower of Christ, led by the Holy Spirit, filled with a knowledge of the word of God, and exercising discernment, Francis’ words are complete LIES. The problem, is that most American Christians lack discernment and may be caught up in a wave of good intention and miss speaking the truth in love, or be too afraid to voice it.
For me, a man raised in the Roman Catholic Church, but rescued through salvation in Christ, Francis’ words are Bold Faced LIES, spoken by one of Satan’s ministers of unrighteousness. These lies come from an apostate religion, which is the “greatest forgery Lucifer ever created”. Below is a quote from Leonard Ravenhill.
“America would shake from coast to coast in twenty four hours if some preacher anointed with the Holy Ghost, gave the Roman Catholic Church a broadside! …These priests who dope men’s souls, these idolatrous “masses”, these Calvary eclipsing prayers to Mary, these miserable millions cheated in life and death by the greatest forgery Lucifer ever made.”
(Why Revival Tarries by Leonard Ravenhill, Copyright 1959, Bethany House Publishers, Pages 39-40)
Make no mistake, Ravenhill was not embellishing in His criticism.
After committing my life to Christ, over 23 years ago, I remained in the Roman Catholic Church for another year and a half. This was God’s will. Every word the priest spoke, was held to the scriptural test. Every doctrine I was taught, revealed as true or false, based on the word of God. What I found was a satanic religious system of men, with enough truth to make the best lies in the world of religion. The RCC is a system where Satan is disguised as an angel of light and his ministers disguised as ministers of righteousness (II Corinthians 11:14-15).
In relation to the video above, it is important to understand the pope made up his answer in total. There is not one scriptural support for a good and moral atheist or good and moral religionist, earning a place in God’s eternal kingdom. In fact, the word of God instructs us absolutely contrary.
Romans 3:20-26 (NKJV) Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Here we see that no person can attain God’s mark or the standard required to earn salvation. Being good, morally or religiously means nothing in meriting entrance to heaven. This is also Old Testament truth as one we read in Psalm 14:1-3, Isaiah 53:6 and Isaiah 64:6. To balance that truth Christians must understand that repentance and faith are the way we receive salvation by grace through faith; it is a free gift. However, we maintain and grow in our relationship to Christ, through obedience to His word, by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
That being said, Francis lied to this little boy; the effects of which will have tragic consequences, because He has built a foundation of sand, rather than one on the Rock of the word of God.
In the first place, let’s understand that atheists deny the existence of God. To be honest, it has been my experience that atheists are not only blinded by their own arrogance, but intellectually dishonest about God. Atheists tend to hold great anger against organized religion and warp God’s word to justify their ungodly anger. They directly fall into the devolution of many in Romans 1:18-23.
Romans 1:18-22 (NKJV) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools
This of course lines up “The fool has said in their heart ‘There is no God”‘ from Psalm 14:1. To imply that a person who denies God’s existence will not be left out of heaven, because he was a good daddy is a complete fabrication.
It is as if Francis has not read the words of Christ who even profess to him on the last day “Lord, Lord, have we not…“, to which Jesus replies “Depart from me you workers of iniquity I never knew you” (Matthew 7:21-23). It appears that Francis has never read or forgotten II Peter 1:20-21, where we find that scripture “is not for any private interpretation“, because the Holy Spirit is its Author, Inspirer and Interpreter. It would appear that Francis does not care about God’s command that we not add to or take from the written word of God (Deuteronomy 4:2, 12:32; Revelations 22:18)
You may be surprised to know that Roman Catholic doctrine reflects the pope’s purposeful errors and falsehood. In fact their doctrine purports that whatever the pope declares in morals and doctrine, is infallible and inerrant, as he is the “vicar” of Christ. The word “vicar” means in the place of, therefore the pope, not the Church, is the visible manifestation of Christ on the earth (in the RCC’s warped view). This one unbiblical doctrine has led to the bastardization of Christianity, which led the world into the dark ages.
It is for this purpose I am writing a series of blogs concerning the Apostate Roman Catholic Church and its lies and false doctrines, in comparison with the faith once delivered to the saints in God’s word. This will be coming soon.
How does this relate to those of us who follow Christ? In a big way!
As defined in my last series on end-times Babylon, we understand it to be a system which allows for a multiplicity of gods, faiths and religious practice under the umbrella of one God. It is true this unholy synergy has existed in the Roman Catholic Church from its inception, but it also exists in the United States. This system thrives in our civil religion, where all faiths are welcome and at this hour supposedly protected.
I would argue the U.S. system to be more prolific because of its economic and military reach. The point is, how would you have responded to the boy? I will agree that tact and candor are important, but speaking the truth in love, from God’s word truthfully, is essential.
Without apology, we must proclaim that all have been born into sin (Romans 3:23: Isaiah 64:6). That is until the Almighty Father begot the enteral Word of God as the Son of God (Psalm 2:7; Isaiah 7:14; John 1:1-5, 14). He was born into flesh, for the purpose of dealing with our sin; without which all would be destined for the second death. This was accomplished by having man’s sin tortured into His own sinless body, because God’s justice required a sacrificial atonement (Isaiah 53:5; Romans 6:23; Colossians 2:15-17).
No amount of good can overcome our sin; save the perfect righteousness of Christ. This is why we need the cross and resurrection of Jesus (Romans 5:8-12). The only way to receive this gift of salvation is through humble repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ’s atonement, resurrection and Person (John 1:12-13). This is truth. Can you share this with a hurting little boy, or are we ashamed of the gospel, afraid of offending, or scared to be seen as dis-compassionate.
To lie, even if it is in an effort to comfort a little boy, is to guarantee he will not only speak the same lie, but potentially turn away from God as an atheist himself. If there is no consequence for unbelief (which there is Romans 11; Hebrews 3:6 through Hebrews 4:4), than why follow Christ at all?
In my next blog, we will look at the afterlife muck of the world we live in, how it is formed, and how we combat it, through the death of a rock-n-roll icon.
